Face-ing a Sugar Daddy

Happy Halloween-Hangover, minxes!

To celebrate All Hallows' Eve, in a modern-hipster-Vampiric-fashion, L and I went to Juno in Shoreditch to hang out with the 'cool' kids at L's friend's DJ set...
I don't like The East. (Neither does my mobile... which leads me to believe O2 is West-ist too)
I don't like House music.
I DO like men with beards.
However, I also like men who Bathe...

Interestingly enough, when this Datress dresses as a Vampire, she apparently begins to look like Jerry Hall. (Thank you complimentary East-end boys... now, go take a shower. A Long one.)

Drunken taxicab statements home; "Let's Not do East again... Seriously, we don't Need Shoreditch. We've done it, tried it again and again, and there's really no need to revisit it."

There was not a single male there that I wanted to talk to.
There was a beautiful girl with whom I shared an extended gaze...
The end.
BORING!
L pulled. I got bored. I wandered in search of company. Found none (other than to buy my double-vodkas, obviously). Bad things happen when you're inordinately drunk and immensely bored...

You start texting people you shouldn't... Face.

Well, responding to texts that you shouldn't...

The long and short of it is, that his phone is working again, costume photos were exchanged (Cave Man. OMG Yum.) and a brief follow-up conversation was completed this morning whilst I lay in bed waiting for the Ibuprofen and two pints of water to steal the head-splitting-pain away.

"Off to my parents to feed the cats and have a fire... Shame we can't share the sofa and the fire."

Sigh.

I realise I am treading dangerous waters here and am still very much of two minds when it comes to Face...
(OK one logical mind: "DON'T DO IT! He's unreliable and hasn't made enough effort!!"...
The rest is attraction and feeling: "He's so dreamy and there's that special 'something' about him")
If he chooses to make an effort then great, but my eggs are Certainly Not all in the Face basket...

Enter the Irish Sugar Daddy...
ISD is the first man I started talking to from the SD dating site that had any potential; he's a young SD, in his 30s and very much a mischievous and cheeky chappy. Not quite the refined, dashing, silver-fox I had envisaged, but a good, safe introduction to this whole new dating scene...

We've spoken on the phone which was filled with laughter, talk of Howard Hughes (he has a strange fascination/obsession/fixation... but hey, if he wants to take me to LA to re-trace the man's steps, OK!!) and sordid stories of being let loose, alone in a female cast member of Downton Abbey's flat....
Interesting indeed!

He has invited me to see Sky Fall (I know Nothing about Bond other than Daniel Craig... FIT!) on Tuesday...
Also not the first SD date I had envisaged: Nobu followed by a shopping trip on the King's Road.
...But let's see what this dating realm has to offer!
(The film had better be followed by a shopping trip on the King's Road... ;-)

Chat soon my lovelies xo

Face, who?!

Who needs Christmas Face when you've already got Christmas dates?!

He is a Sydney-based, Beckham doppelgänger (with a nicer voice), covered in tattoos, fashion buyer/designer who was one of my Business passengers and with whom I fell in love on my last flight.

Good thing I gave him my number...

Deats to follow ;-) x

ChristmasFace turned to RageFace

As you can imagine, one is not christened with the name, ChristmasFace.
One must acquire the Face of Christmas... Here's how.
One's Face can also turn from Christmas to Rage... Here's also how.

...

He is a 30 year old 3D design and film editor from Bournemouth and he is DREAM-Y! CF is 6 foot, extremely muscular (not in the beefed-up "I live in the gym" sort of way, but in the "I am a very active person and also occasionally frequent the gym" sort of way) ;-) He has absolutely striking blue eyes, dark messy, curly hair, bit of scruff (you know I love a slightly bearded man), looks rugged and has a strong jaw. Essentially, right up my favourite (man)Street.

He is from the free dating site I only really use as an ego-boost (hey, lets be honest; I am a busy lady with only time for appropriate suitors and in the in-between, it still feels good to just receive a "hey bbz, lookin well fit, im da man 4 u" from some buffoon in the outskirts of nowhere, even though they clearly aren't 'da man 4 me, innit').

CF caught my eye. Not only is he Dream-Y and walking straight up my street, he is eloquent, interesting, knows what he likes and wants, funny, sarcastic (in the good way) intelligent and has a natural curiosity. He is introspective "need to stimulate my grey matter" and included in his photograph collection are two photos which speak straight to my happy heart: a ChristmasFace photo (FYI: the happiest, goofiest grin you can muster, like on Christmas morning) and a jumping photo (FYI: my favourite camera snap in happy places).

I. Am. Sold.

Plus, on his first date he promised to "...strip and perform an elaborate mating dance under the watchful eye of the heavens."
HOT.

I'll. Pay. More. Than. Asking. Price- Sold!

So CF and I begin an on-again, off-again email relationship over the next few months. He dips in and dips out of the POF world, as do I, and between you and me, this summer wouldn't have been a good time for me anyways, considering all the male-related bullshit I've been sifting through. More recently we began texting, one text he mentioned that he'd been chopping wood. Seriously. Hot.

All this texting eventually led to a very surprise phone call one night.
Picture me on the other line to my bestie A,
"Oh hold on I've got an incoming... OHMYGOD!IT'SCHRISTMASFACE!HOLYSHIT!I'LLCALLYOUBA.."click...

Face, as he took the liberty to nickname himself after my continued use of ChristmasFace to Face's (beautiful)Face, was just as charming and funny and intelligent as I'd hoped and with the Dream-Y deep voice and educated Southern accent I'd also hoped (There is just NO way that strong jaw would produce a mousey tone).
At first he made me feel nervous. It is a great feat to make this Datress feel uneasy, especially over the phone; but the heart fluttered, the cheeks burned cherry-red and I suddenly embodied the stereotypical (dumb)Blonde-Hostie. Somehow I finally found my groove and wit and I embodied the Intelligent Blonde that I Actually am! (Phewf)
Face mentioned his desire to move Back to London and made a few comments of encouragement (you know the ones, that you over-analyse with your girls or gays: "... he said this(insert comment)... Which really means he must be into me, riiight?!" "Oh totally!")
And promised he'd be up to London to visit soon.

Over the next week or so we kept in semi-regular touch; when he wouldn't fall out of conversation without responding, he'd write the next day as if all was normal. WarningSign Noted.

Fastforward to last week. I won tickets to see Ben Howard at an exclusive televised performance in a super-cool converted church. Perfect event for a first date, methinks. Face agrees. I also have tickets to see another one of my favourites, Bastille, on the Friday at another great venue, KOKO Camden, so offer "either/or" as he is the one making the trek from Bournemouth. He insists BH on Wednesday is fine.

Reconfirm on Sunday. "Yes, Weds is on". HOORAY!

Tuesday rolls around; Whatsapp him to make definite meeting time/place plans, "Driving, will text when home"... "Just watched a Freddie Mercury doc... love that guy". Respond... and...

Nothing.

So before this vampire's bedtime: "Right slacker, let me know your plan tomorrow so we can figure something out". Wake in the (late) morning.

Nothing.
(Keep in mind I am just like every other tech-savvy minx and use Whatsapp for a Reason with boys/men- you can see if the message has been read)

1200: "Hey, made any plans yet? It's at Old Street, has prompt start time for broadcast at 1900 and was thinking a few drinks first, but depends on when you're
arriving, so let me know."

Nothing... (Has been read)... Until 1500

When he messages that he is trying to find accommodation in London as his usual mates are out of town.
Are you definitely coming?

Nothing.

Around 1630 he finally gets around to asking me if I can find someone else? (Luckily I have a very good friend who is fully aware of the situation, on standby, as backup)And that he cannot make it; he hasn't managed work well, can't find a place to stay and it is torrential raining there- not best for driving. He does apologise.
I tell him I am disappointed but that he can make it up to me by coming up to Bastille on Friday. He says "Sorry Smiler" (my heart melts a little as I have a particular affection for this nickname) and that he'd love to. Don't worry, I am not overly pliable and remind him that I am NOT making backup plans now that he's said Yes.

(The Ben Howard concert was fucking amazing)

Thursday arrives, I hear from him, "When would you like me to arrive? I am looking up transport times. Would you like to do something on Saturday? A mate has a birthday picnic thing in the New Forest, but it is not vital I attend if you're free?"

Things are shaping up the way they should!
Respond
(Read)
Nothing.
(WTF?)

Friday, I am off to a friend's baby shower (yes, really). Whatsapp Face,
"Let me know what time you are arriving and what station I should meet you at. I am on my way to a mate's party and need to plan my departure accordingly."
(Read)
Nothing.
(W.T.F.)
Text him on my way home asking if he's received my Whatsapp messages.
(We all know perfectly well he has, but sometimes a woman needs to try a different tact to get the answer she Needs!)
Nothing.

!!!RageFace!!!

Sinking feeling in tummy sets in...
Maybe I Should have made a backup plan...
But I didn't WANT to make a backup plan and jinx it,
and Hang on!
More importantly!
I Shouldn't HAVE to make a backup plan!

Checking my iPhone so frequently that it barely leaves my hand and my iRSI becomes distinctly apparent.

Don't know why, but ended up checking my POF account and... what the? Message from Face @ 1735: "My phone isn't working! It got soaked in the rain and mum fainted in the car so have had to go pick her up. I won't be able to make it!"

hmmm...
Hmmmmmmm...
HMMMMMMMMMMMM...

I began laughing. Not even an apology.
I sat, mind simultaneously whizzing around trying to think of who else might be able to make it and also mind Blank.

Fucking boys.

I phoned and ranted to my bestie A.
I let one tear (of frustration) fall.
I poured myself an extra large glass of Gewurztraminer (OK, 2 extra large glasses).
I put on my best face of makeup, including a black liquid liner Cleopatra flick.
(Out of desperation, I may have text 'Majors'- an ex, he needs a few installments here- to see if he could come, he couldn't. Probably a good thing).
I wore my previously decided upon date-outfit (minus the heels).
And I timed my departure for precisely one hour before the band were due on stage, so there would be no awkward hang time on my own.

(Concert was great, although arriving so late I couldn't squeeze in as close as I would have liked).

Once I got home, I responded to Face expressing my disappointment as I'd been looking forward to meeting him and that I hoped his mum was OK and safe. He did respond saying he had been looking forward to it too, FINALLY said sorry, that it had been such a terrible week, and that his mum was doing OK, other than needing a couple tests run.

I did ask if he was still planning on coming up to London the next day.

And guess what?!

NOTHING!

It's a sad day when a Boy pretending to be a Man is exposed.
Especially one with a ChristmasFace.
Has left this girl with a FrustratedFace.

All Talk and No Face! Will update if Face ever shows his face.

Stopping full Stop. and Starting full Start!

Good evening my loyal friends ;) Good to see you again...
I have been wrestling with the thought of whether to start where I left off, or conversely start presently and work my way back...
However, this has been impeding my writing full. STOP!
SO, let's start with the NOW... and work backwards, shall well?

At the moment, it's been all about a Boy called ChristmasFace. (note the use of Boy).
